Monthly Report August 2026

In August, Nittenau Fire Department responded to twelve alarms, completed 39 First Responder calls and carried out extensive training activities.

Emergency Operations

In August, Nittenau Fire Department was alerted twelve times. The First Responder team completed 39 calls during the month.

The fire department’s responses comprised four fires, three standby duties and five technical assistance calls. Most incidents turned out to be false alarms or situations in which the fire department’s intervention was not or was no longer required. These included, among other things, the overflowing fountain on the market square and the activation of a fire alarm system.

Two traffic accidents occurred in August: one on the B16 and one within the town on the new Regen bridge. Everyone involved was fortunate in the circumstances; no one was seriously injured.

At a small vegetation fire, the fire department quickly contained and extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading further. A larger fire occurred in the neighboring district of Cham, where an auto repair shop burned down. Nittenau Fire Department supported firefighters from the neighboring town with firefighting operations.

One standby duty involved accompanying a pilgrimage. The fire department also supported traffic control during the anniversary celebration of the Sollbach firefighters.

For its final response in August, the fire department secured a helicopter landing on a road.

Fire department activities

There was also plenty of training and continuing education activity in August. Three firefighters successfully completed a fall-protection course. The weekly training program included four sessions:

  • ABC operations (theory)
  • ABC operations (practical training)
  • Radio exercise, including local-area familiarization
  • Rescuing people from a truck

The fire department also attended the anniversary celebration of the Sollbach firefighters. Otherwise, August was relatively quiet.

Junior firefighters

The junior firefighters began the month with the district junior firefighters’ camping trip. This year, the camp took place in Bergham. All participants enjoyed several days together that they will remember for a long time.
