Monthly Report July 2026

A busy July with emergency calls, training sessions and participation in Feuerwehr Hof am Regen’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

Emergency operations

In July 2026, Nittenau Fire Department was called out 17 times. The First Responder team was also heavily involved, responding to 39 alarms.

The fire department’s calls comprised five fires, one safety watch and eleven technical assistance operations.

At the beginning of the month, a torn-down high-voltage power line caused a fire to start. Fortunately, more extensive damage was prevented. The technical assistance operations included an oil spill, the rescue of a small animal and assistance with opening a door. The fire department also supported two rescues using a tower ladder and assisted the emergency medical service with carrying a patient. The department was also called to a small vegetation fire, where more serious consequences were fortunately prevented.

The two largest incidents in July were a barn fire in Bernhardswald and a combine harvester fire in the Nittenau urban area. At the barn fire, Nittenau Fire Department supported responders from the Regensburg district with its tower ladder. The combine harvester was completely destroyed by fire. Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

At the end of the month, Nittenau Fire Department supported the members of Feuerwehr Hof am Regen at their fire department festival and took on the safety watch for the church procession.

Fire department life

In addition to emergency operations, July also included association activities and training events. During the first week, training was suspended in favor of a miniature golf tournament at the new course at the airfield. The shared summer evening provided an opportunity to strengthen team spirit while also having some fun.

Two weeks later, a burger barbecue was held at the fire station. The firefighters first completed their technical service duties and then rounded off the evening with a relaxed gathering and a shared burger meal.

Training and continuing education were also not neglected. A group of firefighters successfully completed the Water performance badge. The weekly training program also included two sessions:

  • Pump and Roll and wildfire suppression
  • Foam firefighting operation

Three fire department festivals were scheduled in July. A special occasion was the 125th anniversary of Feuerwehr Hof am Regen. Nittenau Fire Department took part on both festival days and spent an enjoyable time there.

July therefore offered an extensive program in terms of emergency operations as well as association activities and training.
