Monthly Report March 2026

Annual Meeting, Incidents and Training: March 2026 at Nittenau Fire Department.

Emergency Operations

A total of four incidents and 32 alerts for our first responder unit – this is the summary of the past month.

The month began with a reported apartment fire in the Bergham district. Together with the fire departments from Bergham and Bruck i. d. Opf., the building was inspected. Fortunately, the all-clear was given quickly, as the smell of smoke had only been caused by food burned in a microwave. The emergency medical service, which had also been dispatched, was able to leave the scene without any patients.

On March 14, 2026, a major fire in an auto repair shop occurred in the operational area of our colleagues from Bruck i. d. Opf.. Together with numerous other fire departments, the further spread of the fire was successfully prevented.

In addition, during March we were dispatched to a false fire alarm (automatic fire alarm system) and to assist emergency medical services using our aerial ladder truck.

Fire Department Life and Association Activities

A fixed event in March is our annual general meeting. In addition to numerous new members joining the fire department association, several members were once again honored this year for their long-standing loyalty, support, and outstanding commitment.

    • Günter Weilhammer
    • Andreas Weidmüller
  • 40 Years of Membership
    • Franz Schmid

    • Heribert Weinhart

For their outstanding commitment as breathing apparatus officers, Andreas Höfler and Tobias Fünffinger were honored.

Another special moment in March was the milestone birthday of our festival patron (“Festmutter”) Petra Rauch. As the celebration coincided with one of our training evenings, we took the opportunity to surprise her with a large bouquet of flowers and personally extend our congratulations.

Training and Continuing Education

There was also plenty happening in the area of training and continuing education. Three different training topics were covered during the weekly exercises:

  • Door and window opening techniques
  • Breathing apparatus station training
  • Radio communication training with movement exercises

March 2026 was once again characterized by diverse operations, dedicated training activities, and an active association life for the Volunteer Fire Department Nittenau. Alongside operational duties, events such as the annual meeting and shared special occasions highlight the strong sense of camaraderie and team spirit within our department.
