November turned out to be a relatively calm month with a total of six fire service operations. Our First Responder team, however, was once again heavily engaged with 35 medical emergency calls.
Among the six fire service operations were two fire watch duties, one during the St. Martin’s parade and another on Remembrance Day. We were also dispatched to a traffic accident, which fortunately resulted in property damage only. An unusual incident was also recorded: we were called to assist a person in distress in the water. Sadly, any help came too late; the person could only be recovered without signs of life. Our sincere condolences go out to the family and loved ones.
Fire Service Activities
In terms of training, the November programme focused on room search techniques for breathing apparatus teams, technical door entry, and “Firefighting in Winter”. In addition, two of our firefighters successfully completed the Aerial Ladder Operator qualification.
As in previous years, we also took part in the Remembrance Day ceremony.
Our junior firefighters successfully passed the knowledge test this month and celebrated their Christmas party.
