Incident statistics August 2023

Record High in First Responder Incidents.

In August 2023, our First Responder unit responded to a total of 48 incidents, making it the busiest month to date. Despite the challenges that this demanding month brought to our team, we are grateful for the opportunity to assist many fellow citizens. The fire department was frequently called upon to support the ambulance service, primarily with the aerial ladder. In addition, smaller fires and technical assistance tasks were commonplace. The most demanding incident was a large-scale search for individuals, as previously reported; otherwise, most incidents were of a minor nature.

To ensure that we are well-prepared in case of emergencies, we consistently practiced. During a breathing apparatus exercise in collaboration with the fire departments of Bergham and Bruck, we successfully simulated a residential house fire on Anger Island. Furthermore, some of our members successfully passed the examination for the THL (Technical Assistance) badge.

Despite the vacation season, the members of the Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Nittenau were always ready and available, not only during incidents. From August 11th to August 14th, 2023, we actively participated in the 150th-anniversary celebrations of the VFD Fischbach.
