Monthly Review – June 2025

June Full of Action: Nittenau Firefighters Assist During Storms

Incident Overview – June 2025

June has so far been the busiest month of the year for the Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Nittenau, with a total of thirteen deployments.

The focus was on technical assistance operations. Among these were six weather-related incidents caused by severe storms. In some cases, we also provided support outside our jurisdiction, assisting the fire departments of Bruck and Sollbach.

Another incident involved a car crash where a vehicle hit a house wall – fortunately, no one was injured, and the damage was limited to property only. Additionally, we were called to a residential door opening and conducted two aerial ladder rescues.

As every year, we also ensured traffic safety during the Corpus Christi procession, while also actively taking part in the ceremony.

There were no fire incidents in June. Two triggered fire alarm systems thankfully turned out to be false alarms.

Our First Responder team also had a busy month with 30 medical emergency calls.

Behind the Scenes: Training, Community and Tradition

In terms of training, two important courses were completed:

  • a pump operator course, and
  • a first aid course with a focus on trauma management.

The month of June also included a focus on performance badges. Two teams successfully completed the Technical Assistance Performance Badge – congratulations to all involved!

There was also cause for celebration in our ranks: we had the honor of congratulating Sebastian Bock and Daniel Obholz on their weddings. Of course, we kept up the tradition and formed a guard of honor at both ceremonies, sending the newlyweds up in the aerial ladder basket.

To wrap up the month, we participated in the parade celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Volunteer Fire Department Freihöls – a fitting conclusion to a month full of action.

Junior Fire Department – Adventure Weekend in the Bavarian Forest

A major highlight for our Junior Fire Department was a weekend trip to the Bavarian Forest. The group spent two eventful and fun-filled days at the Waldmichl youth center, strengthening team spirit and enjoying unforgettable moments together.
